Sharing Sweets

cookies 2

February 15, 2021

The dairy farmers in America are dancing a little jig today.

I was not paying enough attention to the ingredients when I first started to mix the sugar cookie dough.  Instead of just doubling the recipe, using four sticks of butter, I quadrupled it with eight sticks of butter.

Eight.

That’s two POUNDS.  Two whole BOXES, if you prefer a visual representation of the level of the mistake.

That makes a lot of cookies, much more than my family needed for their traditional, special Mom-made Valentine’s Day gift.

Why not give them away?  Acting on my reminder from yesterday, I packed up several plates full of heart-shaped sweetness and set off.  At each stop, I chatted for a few minutes, catching up with neighbors and friends.

Cookie connections:  my silver lining for today.

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
