Family Photo Fun

family photo 2008

November 30, 2020

Every year, I insist on a family Christmas photo.  And yes, it REQUIRES matching outfits and color scheme.

And every year, I receive a lot of pushback from the family.  It’s a challenge to get everyone together at the same time, to coordinate their schedules, to make sure that the weather is decent, to have someone to push the button on the camera.

(I won’t even talk about how hard it is to make sure that everyone (OK, the males of the family) have had their hair cut recently.  At some point, I just take what I can and ignore the muppet resemblance that doesn’t seem to bother them.)

This year, it was remarkably easy.  No one is really supposed to be out much… so they were almost easy to gather for the photo.  It was even fairly warm (for the last days of November in southern Vermont)—and sunny.

I delight in this silver lining.  One task off the list with less fuss and grumbling than normal.  (And if you happen to see the family photo, please do ignore any too-long hair!)

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
