These days, I am finally truly and completely resigned to waiting for a vaccine before my business can return in any real way.  The positive news this week of not one but two (!) real solutions balances the incredibly negative statistics and shutdowns.

But in the meantime, I have found a way to block out the worries about paying bills:  I have allowed myself to use this time to fulfill some dreams.

Today’s long-held (but never-acted-upon) was to write a children’s book.  A webinar on how to write a children’s book showed up in my email inbox, and I decided to take it at noon.  I was so inspired by it that I filled the rest of my afternoon attempting to put my thoughts into a cohesive story, written down on paper.

I have no idea if it is any good, and while I hope it might see the light of day by being held in parents’ hands as they snuggle close and read to their child… I am pragmatic enough to know that it might not happen on a grand scale.  Then again, maybe it will.

So my silver lining today is creativity, for having the time and the chance to pause what I have long considered to be “real work”, and to indulge myself in a dream.  Dreams are good.  I think dreams are often shuttered and stuffed away.  On this cold November day, I enjoyed bringing this one out into the light.
