“Remember to start gathering your stuff,” I say to my youngest daughter.  “We leave the day after tomorrow.”

“But we just got here!” she cries out.

An idea goes through my brain:  she could stay in the Midwest.

Because of COVID-19, she has no summer plans.  Everything we’ve looked at has been set aside, rescheduled or just cancelled.  She is already bored, and school has only been out for days.

So I mention it to her.  I point out that it’s actually an ideal year.  We’ve talked about it before, but there have always been things that got in the way.  This year is different.

She agrees… and we set this plan into motion.  A true silver lining for her!
