Yesterday’s strawberry picking yielded two full flats.  They are now all washed, hulled and sliced.  Most are in the freezer, probably awaiting smoothie making on some cold winter day.

As “Spanish daughter number three” and I finished up the last ones, we both had the same thought.  We put together two bags for friends of ours.  They are older, and the quarantine situation has kept them particularly out of their normal life.

So, since March, we have often thought of fun things for them.  Today it was two bags full of cut up strawberries—and a pleasant conversation in person.  Of course, they were on their front porch, and we were in our car.  It’s a silver lining to be reminded to reach out to others—especially with something tasty!
