Because of COVID, my sister in Illinois can now work from home. She goes into her office in the plant regularly still, but she has more flexibility. Recently, she’s happily reported her bonuses of watching deer walk through the field near their house and having lunch with her family.
Today, it turns that being home was fortuitous. Our mother had a bit of a health scare today. My sister was already just down the road, a mere two-minute drive away. She was able to respond immediately.
The two of them have spent the day in the emergency room and are headed home now. Follow-up appointments are scheduled for tomorrow.
Today’s is a silver lining from COVID that was completely unexpected for all of us.
