A New Gift

christmas not covid

December 24, 2020

This is a strange Christmas Eve for the globe.  There is much missing from “normal” activities today.

But, as I don’t rush to get poinsettias moved from my house to the church…

As I don’t arrange my day around the choir rehearsal that starts at 3 PM…

As I am not coming home from a beautiful Christmas Eve service that starts at 4:30 and usually ends around 6…

I found I had time to craft one really heart-felt gift for each of my three kids this year.  It occurs to me that I have spent a lot of time writing this year; why not write something special for them?

The silver lining today is spending that time at the computer, putting down onto paper meaningful memories that only their mother could share.  It’s not the same as a “normal” Christmas Eve.  But I am not sure I can say that I would have actually gotten it done in a “normal” year either!

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
