For only the second time this year, my daughter has completed a full day of school, combined with sports practice.
The second time. By the end of September. Her brother—who attends plumbing school only twice a week for only two hours each time—noted correctly that he has been in school for more hours than she has by this point. We missed the first two Tuesdays, due to our having traveled outside of the counties Vermont has deemed “safe” and not subject to quarantine.
The silver lining for her? A slow start back into the routine has given her time to prepare and be organized. She likes her soccer teammates and finds her classes interesting and engaging. Best of all, she feels ready—and happy.
As a mom, I’ll take this silver lining this year.
